There are now just over 10 days to go before the return of the Gp Palio del Recioto - Trofeo C&F Resinatura Blocchi, which on 19 April will bring back to Valpolicella a splendid day of celebration in the name of two wheels.
Three years after the last time, the tradition of the Palio del Recioto will be renewed, with fans waiting festively for the athletes to pass by and the best Under 23 talents from all over the world ready to challenge each other to the last drop of energy along a demanding and spectacular route.
A winning formula, the one that over the years has made the race of dreams one of the most coveted goals of the international scene and, at the same time, an unmissable opportunity to meet for all fans of two wheels.
The return after the interruption due to the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, however, will also mark this year the re-edition of the Recioto Sprint, the morning event that has been included in the Palio del Recioto programme for several seasons now, which will bring the youngest riders back to compete along the finishing straight in Viale Giuseppe Mazzini.
The event, set up in collaboration with the Track Management Committee of Pescantina and the Provincial Committee of the FCI of Verona, will open at 9.30 am with the youngest from G1 to G6 engaged in the first sprint that will take place on the finishing straight of Negrar. An initiative that will allow the public of Valpolicella to enter the climate that will precede the international challenge reserved for Under 23.
"The Palio del Recioto comes back and does so with a complete programme that wants to revive the great tradition of this event in all its aspects. This is the condition we had set ourselves when, at the beginning of the pandemic, we were forced to give up putting in place the organisation already prepared in all its details," explained the President of Valpolicella B.E.S.T., Alessandro Comin Chiaramonti. "We have had to postpone our race several times in recent years precisely because we did not want to give up our format or give life to a reduced version of the event. The numbers and the rules tell us that today we can finally put on the construction site again a great event in safety and for this we are working to ensure that everything is up to the history, tradition and coat of arms of our event. On Tuesday 19 April we will welcome athletes from all over the world and the fans who will accompany them with the usual hospitality and warmth that distinguishes our territory. The Recioto Sprint also fits into this context and will give many youngsters the opportunity to experience the thrill of crossing the finishing line of the Palio del Recioto, thus beginning to cultivate the dream of being able to cross it in a few years' time during the international race".
The details of the rich programme of the Palio del Recioto 2022 will be revealed during the press conference that will be held at the Town Hall of Negrar on Tuesday 12th April from 11.00 a.m. in the presence of the first citizen, Roberto Grison and of the President of Valpolicella B.E.S.T. Alessandro Comin Chiaramonti.
