Pier Augusto Stagi

Of Tuscan blood, Pier Augusto Stagi was born in Turin 48 years ago, but is in fact Lombard by adoption, having always lived in the "City of the Madunina".After a brief past as an amateur cyclist, he entered the world of journalism in 1985, working with commitment and passion for 2 important newspapers: "L'Unità" and " La Notte," dealing mainly with soccer and cycling. Stagi thus has the opportunity to gain significant journalistic experience in the world of sports, following and reporting on "The Golden Years" of the 2 most important Milanese football teams. After 10 years of a brilliant career, he closes his experience with "La Notte."
It is 1995 and Raffaele Carlesso calls him to fill the role of Head of the Press Office of the Federciclismo. A task that saw him engaged with perseverance and dedication for 2 years.
In the meantime, he accepts the assignment from the then publisher Angelo Berto to think of a new monthly cycling magazine. Thus in May 1995 TUTTOBICI was born.
He devotes himself body and soul to the monthly, reluctantly leaving the Press Office of the Federation, thus giving birth , after 9 years, to TUTTOBICIWEB.IT, a site that today has more than ten thousand unique daily visitors.
Since 1994 he has been the cycling signature of "Avvenire," the following year of "Il Giornale." Also a contributor to "SOLE 24 ORE" , since 6 years he has been the cycling voice of "Radio 24."
Pier Augusto Stagi has 20 Giro d'Italia, 14 Tour De France and 18 World Championships to his credit.
He is also the author of 5 books written in collaboration with well-known names in the sports world such as: Paolo Maldini, the late Marco Pantani, Adriano De Zan, Angelo Costa and Cristiano Gatti.
For these reasons, we are proud to award the Dante Ronchi prize to a man who, thanks to his commitment, has allowed cycling lovers to count on a newspaper, and a Web Site, always up-to-date and of excellent quality.
