Roberto Visentini from Brescia won by detachment the 14th Grand Prix "Palio del Recioto," contested in Negrar and reserved for amateurs third series. Behind the winner were placed in order Gobbi, Rigoni, Ceresoli and Martini, part of the chasing group. Further behind were Begali (first of the Veronese), Arnaboldi, Gabassa and Massai.

It was a very tight race (the average touched almost 34 km. per hour) from start to finish. Suffice it to mention that ten riders were already in the breakaway after the second lap of the circuit, which touched Parona. At the foot of the climb leading from S. Pietro Incariano to Marano the more than 115 competitors were now divided into several units. On the first ramps, splitting occurred in the leading group, while in the rear greened up strong other competitors, including the winner.

Numerous, meanwhile, retirements before the mountain grand prix. Here Brescian Visentini launched the decisive attack. Pushing on the pedals, he initially brought himself close to the outriders and then with an action of strength overtook everyone to throw himself into the subsequent descent, which was to lead to the finish line in Negrar.

Behind the fugitive were Gobbi, Rigoni, Ceresoli and Martini. Despite the efforts made by the quartet, the gap was not cancelled, while further back agreement did not reign.

So for Visentini it was a finale of the liveliest and most interesting, a triumph for the Brescia-based G.S. Mariani Cali rider who crossed the finish line about two minutes ahead of Gobbi. This was the promising Brescian's fourth victory of the season, welcomed under the banner by a warm applause of the numerous spectators who were able to follow the events of the stupendous race through the radio link connections, fixed and mobile, offered by the G B. 60 radio amateurs, stationed in the salient parts of the courses.

An excellently successful experiment, first of all in Verona, thanks also to the collaboration of the U.C. Veronese organizer of the race. Kudos to Cav. Maraia president of the organizing company, his faithful collaborators and the promoters liei Palio del Recioto with Cav. Tassini at the head.
