
The new generation of world cycling will meet in Negrar di Valpolicella (Vr) for the 59th Gp Palio del Recioto - Trofeo C&F Resinatura Blocchi that on Tuesday 19th April will be the stage where the best talents of international cycling will exalt themselves.
To play for the prestigious success up for grabs on the roads of Valpolicella will be, in fact, those young athletes who represent not only the future, but also the present of the two wheels starting from the revelation Fran Miholjevic (CTF) fresh winner of a stage at the Giro di Sicilia. The Croatian, born in 2002, who by winning the test included in the Italian professional calendar has amazed the general public, will also be present in Negrar to put to good use the splendid physical condition that is supporting him.
The Croatian Under 23 time trial champion, however, will have to measure himself against a batch of athletes of the highest quality among which stands out the name of the Colombian Under 23 national champion German Gomez Becerra (Colombia Tierra de Atletas) also he returned from an excellent Giro di Sicilia after winning two third places in the internationals of San Vendemiano (Tv) and Col San Martino (Tv). In Valpolicella there will be great expectations also for the Norwegian Per Strand Hagenes (Jumbo Visma), recent winner of the last stage of the challenging Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux, in Belgium, where he also finished second in the general classification. Italian fans will be looking to Lazio's Martin Marcellusi (Bardiani CSF Faizanè), who won the Trofeo Piva, and Lorenzo Germani (Groupama FDJ), who will be joined by Riccardo Ciuccarelli (Biesse Carrera) from Marche, Davide De Pretto and Simone Raccani (Zalf) from Vicenza and Kevin Pezzo Rosola (Tirol KTM), Samuele Carpene (General Store), Edoardo Zamperini (Zalf) and Mattia Petrucci (Colpack Ballan) from Verona.
Finally, among the men to keep an eye on the Spanish Fernando Tercero Lopez (Eolo Kometa), the young Polish Michal Pomorski (HRE Mazowsze), the French Romain Gregoire (Groupama FDJ), who won the European Road Champion in Trento last year among the juniors and the Danish Mattias Nordal (Biesse Carrera).
